The UNIDAD of Miami Beach Celebrates "Generation Y-NOT NIGHT" with the Miami HEAT on March 18, 2012 a "SLAM DUNK!"

Miami, Mar. 9, 2012 - The New Generation Leadership and Workforce Institute (NGLWI) of UNIDAD of Miami Beach celebrated "Generation Y-Not Night" with the Miami Heat on March 18, 2012 at the American Airlines Arena during the Heat vs. Magic game.

The Miami Heat, in its continuous commitment to social responsibility, demonstrated that promise to its community by celebrating our High School Students along-side UNIDAD of Miami Beach and the Generation Y-Not Summer Program. "We are honored that the Miami Heat has allowed their success serve as a benefit to our community. We are grateful to the Miami Heat for this opportunity to bring new experiences to our students, and most of all, grateful that they continue to set the standard as it pertains to social responsibility." - Nelson Santiago, Program Coordinator

'Generation Y-NOT' is the name of a summer employment program where over 350 Miami- Dade High School youth have celebrated leadership, learned financial literacy and embraced Social Entrepreneurship over the past 5 years.

The Generation Y-Not Program is a combination of an after-school & summer employment program extended to all High School Juniors and Seniors, Primarily in Miami-Dade Schools, that focuses on Financial Literacy, Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship. It is funded by South Florida Workforce and the City of Miami Beach and supported by countless other organizations and corporations in South Florida.

This celebration allowed UNIDAD of Miami Beach conduct fundraising and create awareness in the community. Proceeds of tickets sold for this game were donated to UNIDAD of Miami Beach and 50 youth participated in giving the Miami Heat players hi-5's as they entered and exited the court at the start of the game and during the half-time break.
